That hideous post-holiday let-down when there are no more festive decorations, lights or anything else much to perk up the place... Spring seems at once on the horizon and yet eons away. So to brighten things up a little (and, in truth, to buy me some time since - again! - I am overwhelmed with work), here are some blue-eyed babes to take a look at. Many of these gents have their own tribute pages here if they happen to spark your interest!

The original "Ol' Blue Eyes," Frank(ie) Sinatra |
|
Elvis Presley |
|
Van Williams |
|
Troy Donahue |
|
What do you mean you didn't notice his eyes the first time...!? |
|
Remember Jeff Fahey (whose career in general contains some of the worst hair EVER, but his eyes were pretty.) |
|
Rob Lowe |
| |
Zac Efron (If you'd have told me a decade ago that I'd actually LIKE this guy eventually, I'd have told you you were nuts...) |
|
Benedict Cumberbatch |
|
Our most recent James Bond, Daniel Craig. |
|
Remember Ingo Rademacher? I think he looks better now than he did in his super-soap opera days. |
|
One of the new batch of actors who's managed to capture my attention, Armie Hammer. |
|
The seemingly omnipresent Henry Cavill. |
|
Chris Hemsworth, one of a trio of brothers to recently make names for themselves. |
|
Youngest brother Liam Hemsworth. |
|
And the eldest, Luke Hemsworth. |
|
Lastly, my own personal favorite of the new breed, Christopher Pine, whose eyes were featured at the top of this post as well. |
So true about post-holiday. January is a month of discarded Christmas trees and dieting, the worst. This did cheer me up. I knew those baby blues were Chris Pine right away! Along with Daniel Craig he has crazy eyes, which in my fevered imagination mean he would be a fun roll in the hay.
ReplyDeleteI generally like Robert Conrad better a little older, but that man was just as good looking when he was in his twenties. He has smoldering blue eyes. Always great to see Jon Eric Hexum, he had a lot going on and it was all good, lol on the double picture.
I feel the same as you Poseidon about Zac Efron, who barely registered with me until I saw him in his tighty whities in the filthy "The Paperboy" by Lee Daniels (the movie where Nicole Kidman pees on him). He really has some chops in that tawdry tale. I still think that is the dirtiest movie I have ever seen that isn't pornographic.
And I did not know there was a third Hemsworth. What's in the water down under? Of course Liam probably the most gorgeous (and pretty funny in the reboot of "Ghostbusters")but I saw Chris in a bad movie called "The Dressmaker" and he was good and really handsome. Thanks for these Winter "blues"
Jon-Erik Hexum, still a strong contender for the title of Most Beautiful Man Ever To Have Existed.
ReplyDeleteA lovely, lovely collection. That Franco Nero was a good looking man, Jeffrey Hunter too. Great picture of Robert Conrad but what the hell is going on with Gary Conway's hair! Egads!
ReplyDeleteAll the others are very good looking men, well Sinatra had a certain unusual appeal though I don't know if I'd say he was a great looking man...but that voice.
I like Chris Pine a great deal of the new crop too. Zac Efron is a fine looking man but he's really overdone it of late with the body, it's TOO defined. And his film choices are crap.
Ooohh, Gingerguy, I should have thought of Daniel Craig! I also meant to look for an old, good photo of Peter Weller, but forgot to. I've never seen "The Paperboy" (sounds like I need to!), but I was utterly startled to see Efron in "That Awkward Moment" and like what he did. I also saw him in "Parkland" and thought he was pretty good. And I must confess I didn't know about the third Hemsworth either until researching this post. Let's see the parents of those three!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteF. Nomen, I never got over my long-ago crush on Jon-Erik. I mean, he was to-die-for gorgeous, but then throw in the VOICE! He's the type of guy who, if he traveled back in time (as his TV show depicted) and walked before a tribe or civilization, everyone would throw themselves before him and declare him the new god! LOL
Joel, I have it on good authority that Franco has slipped a bit lately (but who doesn't, eventually?!) Yet, he was truly exquisite in his day. He's about to be seen (and I mean SEEN) in a movie with Joan Collins and Pauline Collins in which he skinny-dips, though I'm not sure how much will ultimately be shown. I LOVE Robert Conrad's eyes in his pic. And, yes, Gary Conway's hair is horrid there, but it was such an unusual photo of him I had to include it! I cannot wait to see Chris Pine with his WWI haircut in "Wonder Woman," a movie I otherwise would have avoided if not for him. And I agree about Zac's body. I know it's the goal of every young man today, but not my bag AT ALL.
Oh, I hate to be that person, but I thought surely someone else would say this. Chris Hemsworth is the older brother, a/k/a Thor, also from Ghostbusters, etc.
ReplyDeleteLiam Hemsworth is the baby, also from Hunger Games, longtime back and forth fiance of Miley Cyrus.
Phew, I feel better. :-)
Also, Daniel Craig, Elijah Wood, Cillian Murphy, "Kyle XY" etc.
OMG! LOL I'm feeling very Hem(sworth)ed in right now! So sorry... and Dave do not feel bad! These things need to be corrected. Thing was, I THOUGHT I studied them and had it all worked out, but nope...! Needless to say I've never seen even one of them in ANY movie. Sometimes, like this past Sunday night, one will present at an awards show. I should have known Chris since his comparatively large frame/build separately him mightily from all the other little lollipops in tuxes! It's fixed now. I did add Daniel Craig in (along with nearly-forgotten Jeff Fahey), but that's about it for this post, I think. I need to move on. Thanks again for the clarification.
ReplyDeleteWell this post is right up my alley! Who doesn't love gawking at hunky, blue eyed men!
ReplyDeleteJon-Erik reminds me of JFK, Jr. Not that they looked alike, but both had that rare kind of universal beauty and hunkiness that almost everyone swoons over. I don't think I've ever heard or read someone saying, "I just don't see why people think he was good looking!". Sadly, they both left us way too soon.
DevilYouKnow, that is so true about both Jon-Erik and JFK Jr! And they're frozen in time at or near their peak. But, yes, who could look at either one and question their appeal regardless of one's personal preferences? As a side note, I never, ever saw anything physically attractive about the (very busy) JFK, but somehow with Jackie's genes in the mix, his son was another story. It's like he got the very best of both of them and the combination was marvelous.
