I have grown into a beyond-political adult and maintain that stance. I doubt George Clooney would have tolerated any cruel remarks about his aunt's many illnesses. I was surprised to discover that after Heston's death, actor Richard Dreyfuss, a man of equally outspoken beliefs of a different stripe, praised Heston in a touching public tribute. I quickly moved that actor up several notches in my book. In the end, all that matters is decency and kindness. As my grandmother used to say, and she was no sucker, "It's nice to be nice."

And now back to Chuck...a gorgeous man, with a hairy chest, and clearly compassionate about many things. His post-apocalyptic stunners (Apes, Omega Man, Soylent Green) are fine films indeed.

If you recall, he began his career as a nude artist's model -- I wonder if any of those 1940s student sketches still exist, somewhere, in a dusty university art department archive or a forgotten trunk.

Narcisohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05145756558278365203noreply@blogger.com
