Why was it on there? I guess because of the Rod Steiger drag scene. Anyway, Eileen was great in that, but the main reason I had to comment was because your post made me go back and watch my copy of The Bad Seed. Eileen was wonderful. I not only watched the movie, but started it over and watched it again with the commentary track with Patty McCormack and Charles Busch. They had wonderful things to say about Eileen.Hilly Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00321603050690435124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-24223235697643580632010-07-18T11:40:34.959-04:002010-07-18T11:40:34.959-04:00Loved "No Way To Treat A Lady!" And as a young gayby, I tried to absorb some of Lea's lessons for controlling a man and defanging his mother. The crime story wasn't bad, either.

Also, didn't Aunt Flo have a fling with Lou Grant? Something about the thought of hypermasculine Lou having sex made me all tingly inside.Topazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15514508159702613771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-4388915914187265332010-07-17T00:28:18.865-04:002010-07-17T00:28:18.865-04:00Exactly, Hilly!! The reason "I" feel that way is that, for the rest of a person's career, until they die and afterwards even, they will be referred to as "Oscar-winning actress Miss So and So." While I do think that sometimes a person (and performance) comes along that just will not be denied in its greatness, it's usually better to reward someone who you know has (and will likely continue to) live up to the distinction that Oscar gives a person. It's a special denotation for a film performer that, in my opinion, is too often given to someone whose lasting impact on the industry is marginal at best!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-77214706511299844532010-07-16T06:32:14.154-04:002010-07-16T06:32:14.154-04:00I remember E H on some daytime talk show just befo...I remember E H on some daytime talk show just before the Oscars. She said that Academy Awards for supporting roles should go to actors who have earned them not for the nominated role but for his or her body of work. In other words, newcomers like Jeannie Berlin (The Heartbreak Kid) should just pay their dues and wait patiently to get an award when they're in their 50's'.Labuanbajohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02868669229565228124noreply@blogger.com
