There is also a performing arts library where you can't check anything out, so I had to sit there and read "My Way Of Life" by Joan CrawfordGingerguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17989371210392669145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-62908236462419139932017-10-10T10:53:11.891-04:002017-10-10T10:53:11.891-04:00Gingerguy, your library had a copy of The Green Sl...Gingerguy, your library had a copy of The Green Slime on DVD?!?!? Dayum! That's one fun, cool library.... The litmus test of a truly magical library, though, would be: Do they have "Love Has Many Faces" or "Where Love Has Gone" on DVD? LOL Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-87835157712922850042017-10-07T17:06:45.327-04:002017-10-07T17:06:45.327-04:00My library had "The Green Slime" and I l...My library had "The Green Slime" and I loved it, I was especially taken with the look of the nurses, and the choreography at the party. There was similar futuristic dancing on "Buck Rogers" once and never forgot it. Lived for Paluzzi's hairdo and especially the long fall she swung around while protecting lives.Gingerguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17989371210392669145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-37701261630800489062017-10-02T11:55:50.730-04:002017-10-02T11:55:50.730-04:00Al in PDX, you are very perceptive. In fact, "...Al in PDX, you are very perceptive. In fact, "The Green Slime" was the movie that MST3K chose for their example/pilot presentation when pitching the show. It was only @ 15 minutes long, just to give an idea of what the series would be like!

Gingerguy, "Green Slime" was released as a single and reportedly received airplay on the radio back in the day. It cracks me up that people might have been driving to work or what-not and have "green slliiiiimme" warbled on their radios! Love it. The Japanese version of this film doesn't offer the title song. It has very traditional, march-like music over the credits, giving it a whole different, more staid feel. While Jaeckel and Gary Crosby shared their stout stature and naturally blonde hair, Richard was FAR more handsome than Gary in my book! He was great at playing a jerk, yet still remained likable somehow. His big scene in "Sometimes a Great Notion" is unforgettable. Thanks! :-)Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-9548804367271051932017-09-29T11:58:07.642-04:002017-09-29T11:58:07.642-04:00Poseidon, I am all over this like green slime. I do believe The B 52's named an album after that movie if I am not mistaken?
That is one groovy tune! thanks for the link. It's as good as "The Blob" and both are surprising in that they have lyrics. I always just expect a moody(or mod-dy) instrumental.
Lol the sex toy comment. Miniatures always make me think of the genius work of Gerry Anderson on "Thunderbirds".
Haha on the Neely O'Hara outfit. So similar! with the geometric design on a mini length shift with piled up hair ("you're the cutest and cruelest"). Her character did space out in a sanitarium so anything is possible.
Jaeckel has a hot bod and is the most recognizable of the bunch. Does he look a little like Bing Crosbys' actor son, was it Gary?. I love that you closed with this poster. The twirling hair is fabulous. Like a Sci Fi shampoo commercial. Everything looked great in 1968!Gingerguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17989371210392669145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-32703105960893948532017-09-28T20:42:12.665-04:002017-09-28T20:42:12.665-04:00For some reason the Gamma 3 reminded me of MST3K&#...For some reason the Gamma 3 reminded me of MST3K's Satellite of Love ... and this seems like a movie they would take on.Al in PDXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08835073077514498840noreply@blogger.com
