Interestingly, according to Wikipedia, he asked his children to come and see him and they chose not to. Sad. His children include two very handsome sons who are actors - one is Andres Jr. and the other son Leonardo may be even more gorgeous than his dad!
https://images.app.goo.gl/aAj4s7MdpkN9URuc9Gualtier Maldéhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01187323917888507404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-1507621794725324702021-03-08T09:33:01.910-05:002021-03-08T09:33:01.910-05:00Dean W, thank you so much!! One report had Andres as the father of 16 (!) children! I didn't put that in the post because it was unsubstantiated. But I can believe it would be possible. LOL Look at Anthony Quinn, not a fraction as handsome, attempting to impregnate the entire world. Who knows what DNA testing would reveal.......!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-88038179745856727762021-03-05T19:17:08.604-05:002021-03-05T19:17:08.604-05:00Oh Poseidon, you’ve done it again! A staple in multiple telenovelas over the years, he always looks scrumpdillyicious! And guess what?!! There’s a Junior! Search Andres Garcia Jr. and check him out...looks like daddy! I'm trying not to bellyache about that all the time and just get on with it, but it is sometimes hard not to...

Al, thank goodness Stiglitz's yacht came equipped with a handy apron to help guard against splatter. (Grease splatter that is! Ha!)

Huttonmy710, yes... ye old "summer blockbuster" syndrome. But "Jaws" giving me "Tintorera" is not regrettable for me. LOL I just wish I'd seen it sooner.

Dan! Ha ha! I actually did try to minimize using her in the photos. (And I have it on pretty good authority that she IS a nice person, though she's really never been a big fave of mine.) I wish they would have gone all the way and let the guys have their fun, too, but I suppose we can't have everything. The "hairnuts" thing is HILARIOUS! :-)

Martin, I couldn't agree with you more. I have many examples of guys in Speedos on this site and Andres Garcia is easily one of the best. Glad you like him. Thanks!

Shawny, there is a fair amount of time given to the shark(s) in "Tintorera" but I a) didn't want to dwell on that when there were bigger fish to fry in a manner of speaking and b) didn't want to spoil any particular plot points that might come with that aspect of the movie. I would love it if this movies sharks were absent altogether so maybe I subconsciously omitted them. !! BTW, I have both a Jaws and a Fonzie Christmas ornament and I hang them close to one another on the tree to see if people "get" it. They usually do, but I have savvy friends.

Joel, I also thought the setting was often very beautiful. Decent cinematography on a budget. So glad you caught this and doubly glad that you enjoyed our new discovery Garcia. I want to see him in other things now, but how does one top his barely-dressed work in this?!?! BTW - I didn't mention in the post that this has music by Basil Poledouris, who was known for The Blue Lagoon, Robocop and The Hunt for Red October - and a love theme with lyrics by Carol Connors, lyricist for "Gonna Fly Now!"

Gingerguy, I am so glad I was not drinking anything when I read that comment about "Elaine" Gary!!!!! Ha ha ha ha !!!!! He does sort of look like Lorraine Gary. What a scream.Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-52456890824483224842021-02-24T06:04:35.887-05:002021-02-24T06:04:35.887-05:00I almost recorded this on TCM but this was way bet...I almost recorded this on TCM but this was way better. What shark? Garcia is gorgeous! wow. The poster tells you everything you want to know, naked death, and seems very Tarantino. I remember Stiglitz from Bermuda Triangle. When I first saw the boat boy with the dye job I thought it was Elaine Gary making a shark movie cameo. p.s. I love that you have a shark movie category. I just watched the wretched Jaws 3Gingerguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17989371210392669145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-33149922414553840772021-02-22T13:58:48.042-05:002021-02-22T13:58:48.042-05:00How serendipitous! I just watched this yesterday after recording it on the DVR from the bowels of the night on TCM's equivalent of grindhouse theatre.

At base it's a terrible movie-nonsensical plot (when there's any at all), inconsistent acting, unfocused direction and those gross scenes of marine killing but it does have a few mildly redeeming qualities.

Since it was probably shot on the cheap they were wise to set it somewhere where the beauty of the surroundings dressed up the production. Some of the scenes are truly breathtaking because of that fact.

The other is of course Andres Garcia. There was not one instant in the entire film where he looked less than spectacular-sunkissed, glowing and not the least bit shy....and why should he? When you look like that your appearance is not one of life's problems!!

I doubt that I'll ever watch it again, it really was a lousy movie but his exquisite handsomeness sure made it easier to stick with. joel65913https://www.blogger.com/profile/14526657073681774683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-79263656298383664192021-02-22T00:56:13.127-05:002021-02-22T00:56:13.127-05:00The greatness of Jaws to me, is well worth the cra...The greatness of Jaws to me, is well worth the crap it inspired including the awful sequels. Even Happy Days tried to ride its wake, but became the reason for the term “jumped the shark.” On another note, I find it hilarious that this is one it’s descendants, but there isn’t any shark in the story per your write up. Is there, like, one scene with a shark in it? The poster makes it out to be a significant part of the film. Speedos were made for men like Andres Garcia! I can't wait to dig this one up and see him in motion. I have a feeling it's going to result in my having to take things "well in hand"! Wonder if Garcia would mind my grabbing him the way he grabs her? Working in the kitchen like that, Stieglitz should be wearing two hairnets. (I mistyped ‘hairnuts’ at first - if that ain’t Freudian, I don’t know what is).Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01848827163648287162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-67596622818676174482021-02-20T09:30:58.339-05:002021-02-20T09:30:58.339-05:00Without a doubt Jaws spawned a regrettable cycle i...Without a doubt Jaws spawned a regrettable cycle in motion pictures that continues to this day.
