That alone caused me to sit through it twice, yet the particulars of the film have eluded me. Thanks for the detailed recap...it's like I never saw it at all!

Happily, some thoughtful soul posted just the shower scene on YouTube, so I won't have to revisit the entire film for a Sam Elliott fix. He is very sexy in "Frogs," though, isn't he?! What a horrible name for a movie, but he's so captivating.

Scooter, you'll have to let us know what you think when you see "The Legacy." It has its issues, but I think it's generally compelling. Tyzack is just spellbindingly mysterious and chillingly calm.

Vinniepop, I recall female classmates of mine being scandalized by "The Entity" and the way Barbara Hershey was treated by the ghost!

Angelman, Sam and Katharine only made this one feature together, but did 5 TV-movies. The one, "Murder in Texas" has him killing Farrah Fawcett in order to be with Katharine! Then they did a private eye mystery and three westerns. ("The Shadow Riders" with Tom Selleck among them, but no "Lonesome Dove.")

I wish I knew what the current situation was with that scissor-wielding daughter!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-64019209004371294212014-02-02T12:24:06.482-05:002014-02-02T12:24:06.482-05:00Angelman, this movie is on DVD as a 3-pack with Th...Angelman, this movie is on DVD as a 3-pack with The Sentinel and Sssssss for $5.00! May be cheaper and all three movies are fun. Thanks so much for commenting, guys. Two of my very favorite films are The Stepford Wives starring Ross, and Mask starring Sam Elliott. They didn't make many films together, did they? They did this one, and appeared together in the Lonesome Dove TV series, I think.

I have been meaning to see this one for years, but it rarely pops up on any of the cable networks. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and become a Netflix person...our last Blockbuster in town closed a few months ago. That will make me a subscriber to EVERY movie channel/service that is offered in the U.S.!! Good thing I have no extra mouths to feed.

This looks like a must-see for a horror fan like me. And the Elliott (and Daltrey) eye-candy is going to be an added bonus!!
angelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-74891894426756629742014-02-01T14:08:39.779-05:002014-02-01T14:08:39.779-05:00You're definitely right about The Legacy novel...You're definitely right about The Legacy novel being everywhere. I can vividly remember my mom having her own copies of that as well as The Entity and only knowing that they were "adult scary stories". I didn't know however, about the fast one they pulled with novelization of The Legacy - pretty ingenious, since it looked like it actually paid off!vinniepophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00964836427634415825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-53862399657185157632014-01-31T10:39:07.685-05:002014-01-31T10:39:07.685-05:00Just noticed that the link I have been using for t...Just noticed that the link I have been using for this blog was not bringing me to the latest posting, but to the Dec. 27th posting. So, I thought maybe you were on hiatus.

But, after commenting on your other blog this morning, I noticed there were 2014 postings...so, I will take my time to read them today.

Strangely enough, how surprised I was to see Sam Elliot here this morning, when this past week I re-watched Frogs for the umpteenth time (and drooled a little), checked out the Legacy shower scene on-line AND wrote a poem about him for my blog (to be posted in April as part of National Poetry Month!)

These cosmic wave lengths are freaky at times!!!

Glad to see you're not a hiatus!!!Knuckles Girlyskirthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18113945990776276595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-29836401025125544972014-01-31T09:54:38.149-05:002014-01-31T09:54:38.149-05:00Gay actor Charles Gray (he is also terrific in the...Gay actor Charles Gray (he is also terrific in the 1967 Hammer horror The Devil Rides Out) was a great friend of Ava Gardner, in her later years. They were neighbours and had adjoining apartments in Kensington, London, and they used to have lots of late night drinks. Bet their parties were a wow! Today they would refer to that as "Ombre" but back then it was "get your roots done!" Ha ha! I'm often surprised at how many other gents out there seem to have been reared on the same TV shows and movies as me and hold distinct memories from them. I hope the ones I dig up around here are pleasant ones! ;-) If you are in to Sam Elliott, "Frogs" is a MUST SEE movie... those jeans.... I have been interested in seeing the movies you mention ever since seeing "Prick Up Your Ears" a hundred years ago, but I never have gotten around to searching for them, nor have they popped up on TV that I've ever seen. I'll have to seek them out sometime. Thanks, Michael!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-75349436258075195922014-01-30T13:05:13.777-05:002014-01-30T13:05:13.777-05:00Poseiden, I am starting to wonder if you aren'...Poseiden, I am starting to wonder if you aren't really my little Sister in disguise, how could you have seen every trashy movie I did as a child? Guess we both had parents with "taste". I remember the book but think I read it after. I love the Garden of Eden reference, if this movie had "deeper levels I will eat my hat. Always thought Sam was smokin' hot (and Katherines' hair was way too long). I wish Nurses still looked like that, if you agree youtube "Hospitals Don't Burn" sometime.
