Somehow "That Show" is back on JLTV again because I recently caught eps with Joe Garagiola and Barbara Walters (with an awesome fall stapled into her hair!)

Yes, Rick. It stinks to see our faves from childhood or teen years dropping off every so often... So many times, I find myself thinking of these stars as how they WERE instead of how they ARE with the passage of years, so it's a bit of a shock when they're gone (and you look up recent pics.) "Masquerade" was fun, though I am not much of a fan of Meg Tilly. Thank God for the beefcake!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-41062172032812449262017-05-27T11:27:33.948-04:002017-05-27T11:27:33.948-04:00Hey Poseidon, Quite the clearance mix!

One of those was Roger Moore. Another is Sean Connery. There are a lot of baby boomer favorites who are heading for their last Hollywood hoorah.

On a lighter note, I'd never guess that first photo was Lana Turner. She didn't keep that look for long!

Can't tell you how many times I rented "Masquerade" just to see Rob Lowe at the peak of his hotness...back before there was the internet!

Thanks for all the great pix and comments,

Rickhttp://ricksrealreel.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/14243899548141583461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-42685493192191346062017-05-25T02:34:54.506-04:002017-05-25T02:34:54.506-04:00Talk about prescient! I never saw "Girl Talk" but live for anything about Virginia Graham. I will have to look this over a couple of times. After I am through mourning Diana Merrill. Fantastic photo fest (Joan's hair!!!)Gingerguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17989371210392669145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-82121256897806940982017-05-24T15:36:37.439-04:002017-05-24T15:36:37.439-04:00Ken, there are so many celebrities (some who belon...Ken, there are so many celebrities (some who belong in "quotes!") now that it's hard to keep track of some of them when they pass, especially if they have been out of the headlines in the U.S. like Ms. Lavi. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You'll be happy to know that June will likely be bringing with it another post on bulges! :-)

Narciso, Lana was playing Lady Edwina Esketh in that photo, so you may be onto something with the British look, though God knows she attempted no accent. She was wed to Micheal Rennie in the movie, from whence came the title. I trust you have seen Lana's movie "Love Has Many Faces?" If you haven't, I think it will be life-changing for you...! If you have, it's always worth another gander. What a cast!

Joel, you're one of the reasons I included the Darnell portrait, even with its fooky color. Joanne's haircolor in "From the Terrace" is just amazing! LOL Like it might be called "Champagne Beige Dream" on the box or something. And, yes, Lavi aged very well. I didn't even KNOW Virginia Graham until I picked up a $0.50 paperback she wrote, saw a photo inside of her with Joan Crawford and had to have it. Her disarming sense of humor and huge heart hooked me immediately. Thanks much for taking time to comment!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-66959153882028177642017-05-24T09:27:56.472-04:002017-05-24T09:27:56.472-04:00Hi Poseidon,
A wonderful clearance collection!! O...Hi Poseidon,

A wonderful clearance collection!! Of course I MUST start by commenting on the lovely picture of my girl Linda Darnell. Even though as you say the color is distorted, purple becomes her and she looks lovely.

Agree that is a beautiful shot of Shirley Jones. In the 60's her look was very similar to the one Joanne Woodward is modeling in those From the Terrace shots, which again I agree flattered her. But Joanne was always more of a basic makeup gal than the ultra glam she portrayed there, though she did go through that brief platinum blonde phase.

Love the pics of Lana, who never met a makeup stick she didn't love! The shot from Diane is the most movie star glamorous though that movie was a thundering bore.

Great pics of Daliah Lavi. I saw a few snaps of her as a more mature woman and she aged marvelously, well put together with a flattering hairstyle and if she'd had work done it wasn't excessive.

I really must make an effort to track down That Show it looks hugely entertaining. I was too swamped at the time to comment on your previous post on it but had fun reading it in a spare moment. I used to watch Virginia Graham occasionally and found her a very interesting personality.

Don't have time to comment on the rest of this treasure trove, except to say that Patrick Cassidy is the most attractive of Shirley Jones's sons-he was wonderful and incredibly handsome in Longtime Companion, but found it all delightful!joel65913https://www.blogger.com/profile/14526657073681774683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-18778023708544863142017-05-24T03:46:39.511-04:002017-05-24T03:46:39.511-04:00Whew, that first shot of Lana was pretty harsh. I ...Whew, that first shot of Lana was pretty harsh. I dunno why, but the make-up has a very "British" cast to it, that same heavy look given to the likes of Diana Dors, Shirley Eaton and Glynis Johns in the late 1950s. Lana looks good next to Roger Moore who died today, and next we see her with Cliff Robertson, whose ex- Dina Merrill also died today… Dorothy Malone looks fantastic in that sunny outfit… I'll put my cards on the table, my personal sentiments regarding Hugh O'Brian match yours for Clint Walker.Narcisohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05145756558278365203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-31901632909811949312017-05-23T23:33:29.557-04:002017-05-23T23:33:29.557-04:00Hi Poseidon

I can't believe I hadn't come across the news before! She was strikingly beautiful to my 10-year-old eyes in "Casino Royale," eclipsing even the gorgeous Ursula Andress.
I've been enjoying your image-filled posts of late, this one affording the opportunity to say how much I get a kick out of the curios and rarities you find.
I always look for your comments regarding hair sculptures and male package bundling. They always make me smile (or laugh out loud)!
Ken Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04940648971296673233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-8803063971517069132017-05-23T15:08:57.900-04:002017-05-23T15:08:57.900-04:00Thanks, Martin! It's actually yet another publicity photo from "The Rains of Ranchipur." If you go to this link at Getty images, you can see her with the turbaned Richard Burton wearing the same white dress with floral overlay. ;-)

http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/lana-turner-and-richard-burton-publicity-portrait-for-the-news-photo/160167362#lana-turner-and-richard-burton-publicity-portrait-for-the-film-the-picture-id160167362

Thanks!Poseidon3https://www.blogger.com/profile/10465785002285422594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-36515095018682778192017-05-23T13:44:31.680-04:002017-05-23T13:44:31.680-04:00Hi Poseidon,

These random collections of yours are actually among my favorites.

I do have to ask - are you sure that first photo is Lana Turner? I did a google image search and it comes up as Lana, but I can't find a source or anything.

Thanks again, I really enjoyed this one.

Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12994860402022617403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006108502645191096.post-49649218896295759942017-05-23T11:01:23.270-04:002017-05-23T11:01:23.270-04:00"That Show" is on Hulu, for the time bei..."That Show" is on Hulu, for the time being....Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02931818941117659978noreply@blogger.com
